Putting Nature at Service through Product Design
Wear Wood is an experimental encounter between material and function. The design contribution explores the possibility of making use of a material's inherent properties in the manufacture of sensory garments.
Sensory garments have the function of increasing the user's concentration via pressure, weight and tactile stimulation. Increased concentration is also one of the effects that research shows that wood has on people. With the design contribution Wear Wood, an attempt to take advantage of wood's inherent properties by using wood in the manufacture of a sensory garment is presented .
