Join us for a picknick and workshop on indoor composting
Come learn to compost food scraps, tiredness, community and capitalism for a short ceremony by the Holding Surplus House.
In response to a deep sense of personal and planetary burnout, I turned to composting and creating new soil in order to restore a sense of meaning and expressing the urgent need for collectively designing a more regenerative future. As part of the process of grieving and taking care of the acute stress illness breaking down cognitive and physical structures, I was looking for soil to bury myself and my tired body in, in order to ferment, decompose and grow anew. Bokashi composting became a part of my everyday life, since I live in an apartment without my own garden, and creating an indoor compost system brought me new affective experiences of working together with and being taken care of by microbial friends in the bokashi.
