The Art of Evolving Our Cultural Heritage - a New Era in Swedish Architecture?
Gain inspiration for a sustainable future as traditional building techniques meet contemporary aesthetics. The exhibition is centered around sustainability as a premise. Referencing the intersection of new and old craftsmanship traditions can be the starting point for a new Swedish architecture that is both innovative, sustainable, and relevant.
With the vision to develop modern construction using traditional materials, the exhibition explores what the optimal wall and roof might look like. The prototype is developed in collaboration with Södra, Ekolution, and Målarkalk. The exhibition demonstrates that when natural materials come together without compromises, the details naturally fall into place.
House of Straw - illustrates this very question and shows how we can develop today's architecture using the older craftsmanship tradition of local and natural materials. When we allow nature to take its place in our communities, we also pay more attention to the details, establishing care for buildings to stand forever.
