Nurturing Sustainability and Fair Practices in Swedish Design
To uphold sustainable ”Swedish Design,” it is crucial to CARE for every part involved in the value chain for designed objects and to understand the need for fair remuneration for designers. Fair remuneration is supported by obligatory rules in the Copyright Act, the EU Commission, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this seminar, Katarina Renman Claesson, the federal lawyer at the Swedish Artists' Association, clarifies the concepts and talks with designer Anna Kraitz about what it means to care for and meet each other's needs in a design assignment. The seminar is held in Swedish.
The seminar is arranged by Konstnärernas Riksorganisation (the Artists’ Association of Sweden), which was founded in 1937 and today represents 3,500 professional visual artists, craftsmen, and designers in Sweden. The Association is the only organization in Sweden working as a trade union to protect visual and design artists' professional, economic, and social interests.
