Temperature as a material for spatial design
Temperature as a material for spatial design
As the planet is gradually warming up, leading to extreme fluctuations in weather, we need to adjust our living spaces. Is it possible to use our own sense of temperature as an inspiration to re-design living spaces? When we eat ice cream that is melting in our hands and mouth we have a direct felt experience and can predict how fast we have to eat it. But what does a certain temperature change mean for our home? In this workshop we sensitise ourselves to the temperature of the environments and materials around us. We map the Tiny House on Wheels and its surrounding at Lokstallarna using our bodies as thermometers/feelers and explore temperature as a material for spatial design.
This workshop belongs to the exhibition SEASONAL CLOTHING - DRESS REHEARSAL FOR CHANGING CLIMATES and takes place at the Tiny House on Wheels that is parked outside Lokstallarna. https://southernswedendesigndays.com/en/event/seasonal-clothing-dress-rehearsal-changing-climates
