LOCALLY PRODUCED COLLABORATION + Live manufacturing!
SPOK exhibits collaborations between designers and manufacturers from SPOK Gotland at Lokstallarna during Southern Sweden Design Days. Through the Ö–GJORT matching project, SPOK Gotland wants to promote creative development, cross-industry innovation and demonstrate the potential that exists in local production on Gotland.
Five teams of form practitioners and manufacturers have been matched together and are paid to jointly develop an idea for 4 months. Ö–GJORT is a test bed for collaboration in the form and design area and the result can be material and manufacturing tests, a prototype or finished product. During Southern Sweden Design Days, 2024, the results of these collaborations will be displayed at Lokstallarna.
In addition to the exhibition, the manufacturer Gotland Garbage has been invited to temporarily move its factory to Malmö during SSDD. Here, it is demonstrated how new utility and design objects can be created from local plastic waste!
Samtida-Produktion-Och-Konsumtion - SPOK - is a digital platform and a network of hubs that lists local manufacturers - from crafts to industry. We want to highlight manufacturing opportunities for creative companies to produce locally and sustainably, all the way from production to consumption. SPOK Sweden is run by Form/Design Center and was founded by Jenny Nordberg, who is also the creative director. The investment has been carried out with the support of Region Skåne, Malmö City, the County Administrative Board Skåne, the Cultural Council, the Agency for Growth and our hubs.
