Nice or Necessary ? Does it need to be in conflict?
The idea is to examine the balance and relationship between necessity and form. Based on a kind of emergency ration of food for a family for 4 months, the volume of the food is used as a space-creating element. Separating walls, sitting and sleeping areas, light admission are created using the food that it simultaneously stores. A home that is eaten, what is most important? Wall or Food? Nice or necessity? Does it need to be in conflict? We want to examine what forms are created when unexpected building blocks are used for unexpected functions. We want to provoke creative use of limited resources. What kind of design language will be created when resources become enormously limited? Can we suggest a much more humble approach to resources without it having to be an emergency? At the same time, a kind of culinary inventory and analysis is made, how can the meal function as a sensual free zone in a troubled world? Which goods maximize taste and creative capacity? What aesthetic ideas provide these conditions? Worry and distress can give rise to solutions and unexpected creativity. What sculptural and spatial qualities can temporarily arise in this temporary sculpture? It is in the nature of the idea that we do not know what it will look like, the creation becomes a playful journey where the edible building blocks trigger thoughts about how they can be used. There will be prepping, culinary and architecture. After the exhibition, everything will be eaten, in some way.
