BISe x SSDD

Open Call: BISe x SSDD 2024

Apply to participate in a group exhibition with selected objects at restaurant BISe during Southern Sweden Design Days.

As a partner of Southern Sweden Design Days, BISe will dedicate its bar Bar Bisou as the festival's official hangout for participants - Malmö's equivalent to Bar Basso during Milan Design Week. Throughout the festival week Bar Bisou opens its doors and becomes a meeting place for design colleagues to meet after closing.

BISe is now looking for designers who want to 'SSDD-ify' the venue and give designers the opportunity to display objects in the restaurant. Do you want to decorate the tables, walls, floors or staff? Have an idea for an SSDD special dish or drink on the menu during the festival? Exhibiting at BISe is free of charge.

About BISe

BISe has become an obvious name in Malmö's restaurant scene since the opening in 2022. BISe is a place that strives to get away from clear concepts. The menu is fluid and constantly changing, based on classic French cuisine but occasionally with a Japanese or Swedish twist.

Application and selection

Designers apply to participate in the exhibition at BISe by submitting an application to hello@southernswedendesigndays.com by 1 March 2023 23:59, containing the following information:

APPLICANT
Designer/studio name
E-mail
Phone

OBJECT
Title object
Type of object
Description of object (in Eng)
Dimensions (LxBxH)
Picture/s (high resolution)

NOTE
Designers apply with individual objects and not with entire exhibition concepts, i.e. BISe cannot be a location for registered program activity, but should be seen as an extra opportunity for exposure. Selected objects become part of a group exhibition that is brought together under one and the same program activity in SSDD's program. Designers themselves are responsible for insurance of exhibited items.

The designer's contribution can be, for example:

  • Drinking glass for the SSDD drink
  • Plates for SSDD's special dish
  • Candles
  • Water carafe
  • Vases/flower pots
  • Lighting
  • Chairs
  • Interior details
  • Wall hangings
  • Carpets
  • Outfits (display on torso or similar alt. worn by staff)
  • Accessories & jewelry
  • Performance

It is possible to apply with several objects. Feedback will be given on the applications received and applicants will be notified if they have been selected to participate in the exhibition March 15.
