Final Exhibition: Graphic Design and Illustration at Fridhem Folkhögskola
What happens to our creative and personal development when we are allowed to create freely and let our expressions reflect our contemporary time? The participants from the Graphic design and illustration program are at the beginning of their creative journeys. At Fridhem Folkhögskola, the free and exploratory environment is a place where ideas can echo without being limited by market forces or clients' demands. Here, the present and future's creative impressions are formed.
In the first and second-year students' final exhibition ECHO, the participants highlight how their creations capture and reflect their contemporary time. The exhibition shows what artistic freedom can do for creative expression and how design and illustration function as echoes – of personal experiences, of the world around us, and of each other's ideas. This year's trends meet the wingbeats of design history.
Graphic design and illustration at Fridhems Folkhögskola works with digital and analog techniques and often collaborates with other cultural programs at the historic folk high school in Svalöv. This results in band posters, movie titles, image work for theater productions, album covers, and all sorts of collaborations with other cultural expressions. Above all, personal development is in focus. It's just as easy to develop your style in ink drawing as it is in font design. Preferably at the same time.
