Colorful echoes of happy times
While the world is drenched in gloom, Lillian Öberg’s furniture pieces are colorful pills of joy. With the Tutti Frutti exhibition, Lillian Öberg is echoing the colors of the ’50s and the shapes of her ’90s designs. While the new stool, STRECK, resembles a midcentury hard candy, it is actually reiterating the wedge shape from a previous stool design.
“I think the wedge shape says something about my approach to design. Being something of an introvert myself, my elliptical tables and wedge-shaped stools really bring people together, create lively conversations, and make me feel included,” Lillian Öberg says.
The stool STRECK will be on display together with its older sibling, the bench STRECK. Both come in a ’50s color palette, with frames in lacquered steel and wooden seats hand-colored in chalk paint.
