Born and raised in Italy, I embarked on an artistic journey influenced by the rich cultural backdrop of my homeland. Early on, I developed a passion for drawing, experimenting with charcoal, ink, and chalk, while simultaneously nurturing a love for photography with the use of an old Polaroid and a LoMo camera. These formative years laid the groundwork for my exploration of various artistic mediums, infusing my work with a deep appreciation for both traditional and contemporary art forms.
In 2011, I relocated to Sweden to advance my career in science at the University of Gothenburg. This significant move opened new doors, allowing me to immerse myself in the Nordic art scene, which sparked a newfound fascination. It was during this time that I began to focus on painting, primarily engaging with abstract subjects.
In 2015, I ventured to the United States, where my exploration of art deepened significantly. Captivated by the dynamic American art scene, I rigorously studied the Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art movements. The revolutionary techniques of Jackson Pollock, the emotive, monochrome works of Mark Rothko and emotive gestures of Willem de Kooning profoundly influenced my artistic expression. This period marked a pivotal moment in my artistic journey, as I seeked to channel my experiences into vibrant canvases, capturing the essence of my life abroad through bold strokes and colors.
After returning to Sweden in 2017, I continued to evolve as an artist, experimenting with innovative techniques and materials. My fascination with the impasto technique informed my approach, as I freely incorporated acrylics and other unconventional materials, such as sand, metal, plastic and wool into my work. This experimentation with textures and layers enhanced the depth of my paintings, adding a tactile dimension that invites viewers into an intimate dialogue with the art.
Describing my work as an exploratory journey, I seek new combinations of shapes, textures, and subjects. My art reflects the nuanced perceptions of everyday life and a profound connection to the surrounding environment. It endeavors to bridge the gap between human emotions and the external world, prompting reflections on individual actions toward both community and nature.
With a body of work that encompasses mostly abstract paintings and, and a selection of drawings and photographs, I showcases a diverse artistic portfolio. My paintings predominantly utilize acrylics, incorporating techniques like impasto to build richly layered textures. The final pieces often feature a variety of mediums, including chalk and oil pastels, adding vibrancy and depth to my expressive compositions.
I have actively participated in several art exhibitions and fairs across Europe and the United States, garnering attention from international art collectors. My work has been featured in esteemed art magazines and interviews, reflecting the growing recognition of my artistic voice and vision within the global art community.
As I continues to create, my dedication to exploring the intersections of perception, emotion, and environment remains at the forefront of my artistic practice, promising further evolution and insight in the years to come.
