Experimental Image Processing
This display shows the hidden nature in the composition of an image by manipulating its data. Even the most simple picture can evolve into something unique and completely different from its original state.
The idea of this method is to let the designer gain access "behind the scenes". To the source of what makes the image appear on the screen. By handling image data in an experimental manner where the integrity of the image is put at risk something new is born. The final product becomes an echo of the designer's visit behind the scenes.
The images used in this exhibition are photographed in Malmö and later processed through softwares which are not designed to handle image files. Softwares such as text editors and audio editors. Due to the vulnerable and unstable nature of the manipulated images they’re later reviewed through actual image editors to regain stability and integrity. One of the editors which manages to handle such corrupt files happens to be Microsoft Paint.
