Redesigning obsolete information and dated strategies into conceptual objects.
“I don’t make products, I create objects to make people think" says designer Helle Robertson. “My work, quite literally deals with the consequences of the outdated system for production and consumption that is still prevailing.”
Helle will be on site at the exhibition, producing unique lampshades from old chess books with dated strategies and out of fashion moves. These lamps are part of the ROBERTSON ReDESIGN series of design objects called OBSOLETES.
Part of the exhibition Off Pitch Echoes together with:
Ylvasara - Textile art in the form of tufted rugs and wall hangings.
Jenny Holmlund - Reuses forgotten paintings to create new works.
Anna Celander - Works with lines and the traces of time in a constant dialogue.
An echo travels through the room, bounces, breaks, changes. The exhibition Off Pitch Echoes is an investigation of this idea and how small shifts, distortions and dissonances give rise to new expressions.
Opening 5-7 PM Thursday 22/5, short artist talk 5.30 PM. Welcome!
