With ROBERTSON ReDESIGN, designer Helle Robertson makes almost any bloody thing out of almost any bloody thing that someone else was about to throw away.
In the exhibition, Helle shows unique boxes with mysterious contents, beautiful memory capsules with things she wants to remember but maybe doesn't feel like talking about, lovingly crafted from materials no one wanted.
When neighbors throw out parquet floors to renovate (which they do all the time, because you have to TREAT YOURSELF, damn it!!), Helle is there to save them. When a hand-turned chair from the 19th century has become rickety and unloved, it regains relevance in Helle's objects.
Designer Helle Robertson has a background in traditional tailoring, pattern cutting and fashion and has always been deeply interested in upcycling and reuse. By working with a variety of recycled materials she hopes to inspire consumers and clients to think creatively and see the potential in their own waste, overproduction or discarded materials.
