An exploration of patterns with natural pigments, the colourful echoes of nature.
Adrienn’s passion for natural colours led her to start growing her own dye plants ten years ago. In her practices she always aims to be sustainable, she “forages and grows” colour. She’s been working with various materials, but textiles, wood, paper and pigments are the ones she uses the most.
The exhibition focuses on patterns adorning surfaces, their relation to interiors and even us. Accessory as an adjective where the patterns are the adjectives of spaces and surfaces. A celebration of the diversity of colours, patterns and how we percept them.
A cavalcade of patterns presented with various themes, like Japanese wood block print inspired patterns, Sashiko patterns, chintz patterns from the 17th century and modern block prints.
