The School of Arts and Communication (K3) at Malmö University merges art, culture, technology, design, and communication in innovative and new ways. This is achieved through pedagogy as well as through research.
K3 offers multidisciplinary education at all levels, within media, culture, and design. K3 combines scientific approaches and theories with artistic methods and practical elements.
Within the design field, K3 offers education within interaction design, product design and graphic design. It also offers freestanding courses within expo design, co design and design studies.
The department attracts researchers from many different disciplines — from design and information technology to media research and cultural studies. Their research projects deal with a variety of topics, including participatory design, interaction technology, social media, comics, culture, and class. Many of K3’s research activities are carried out in close collaboration with external stakeholders.
