Q&A

1. How do you create a unique and inspiring experience for your guests, for example, through design, interior, and architecture?
We operate three apartment hotels under The More Hotel, two in Malmö and one in Lund. Each of them is unique, with its own design and architecture inspired by the history of the building or the location.

The More Hotel Mazetti is housed in a historic chocolate factory, and much of the original architecture has been preserved and reflected in the hotel. Here, modern design and interior elements blend with history and old photographs.

The More Hotel in Västra Hamnen opened in 2022 and is a completely new building. However, we have still incorporated historical elements by selecting materials and interior details that reflect the area's industrial past, particularly its connection to Kockums, known for building submarines. One example of this is the exterior of the hotel, where metal plates have been directly repurposed from Kockums before parts of the industry were demolished. The rooms also feature a warm yet industrial feel through their design and décor.

Our hotel in Lund is located in Lund’s old locomotive depot, in the rooms and corridors that once housed trains and their repair teams. All rooms maintain architectural traces of the old depot, filled with beautiful wooden beams and large windows.

2. Southern Sweden Design Days focuses on sustainability, innovation, collaboration, and development. How are these values reflected in your hotel operations?
Sustainability is always a priority for us, both in our daily operations—such as reducing laundry, water usage, and food waste—and on a larger scale, such as reusing materials in new constructions. We are constantly improving and developing new ideas. Right now, we are expanding our hotel in Lund, tripling its capacity in true The More spirit!

Through various partnerships and participation in local networks, we collaborate with Malmö and Lund’s business communities to develop and improve the tourism industry in the region.

3. How do you work with sustainability, and how does this relate to this year’s theme, ECHO, about lasting impressions?
As mentioned, sustainability is at the core of our daily operations, and our hotels align well with this year’s theme when considering how elements from the past are renewed and continue to leave an imprint on our business today.

Rather than replacing everything with new materials, we find ways to develop and modernize while preserving historical buildings and reusing materials connected to each location’s history.
