Graphics + Fashion = Talking Through Fabrics
Talking Through Fabrics is a visual critique of the fashion industry and fast fashion. Using the method of silkscreen printing we transform bland pieces of clothing into communicative artifacts.
The exhibition consists of a number of garments, each of which touches upon a theme related to the consequences of production and consumption in the fashion industry — toxins in nature, climate change, poor working conditions and over-consumption. The prints consist of illustrations and typography which serves as a critique or review of the themes. Through the exhibition Talking Through Fabrics we aim to encourage others to reflect on trends and consumption, and to create a meaning for their garments themselves.
