Glass + Disorder = Slump Production
Slump Production is a collection of objects created by an experimental exploration of the technique glass fusing. The focus of the exhibition is the interaction between production, exploration and the unexpected.
Glass is a mouldable material that can be industrially mass produced. The result of this type of manufacturing is identical objects that are difficult to distinguish from one another. When crafted by hand it’s difficult to control and the relationship between the maker, the object and the material becomes more tangible.
In contrast to serial production, homogeneity and perfection, Slump Production explores the value of individuality in objects through the unexpected that often is the result of glass fusing.
