Deep listening exercise
Nature and nonhumans are all around us but we rarely take the time to truly notice them. With many of us spending a lot of our time in a city, how might we better engage with all the nature and nonhumans around us in our daily lives? This workshop will specifically focus on deep listening. We will gather on cosy pillows and blankets on the STPLN roof and close our eyes to listen to the surrounding soundscape. We will collectively reflect on the sounds we hear as a way of deepening our connection to nature in urban environments. This exercise is something you can keep coming back to over time or teach to friends to open them up to new ways of engaging with nature and nonhumans.
Please bring something soft to lie on if possible e.g. blanket, pillow, yoga mat. We will also have some blankets and pillows available if you don’t have your own.
