Eight artisans from different material fields interpret the theme SPOTS
The word 'spots' has several meanings: dots, points, dirt, marks and it can also mean places, areas, scenes and situations. In the fifth exhibition carried out within the project 7 x konsthantverk, eight artists from different material fields are presented, all with personal interpretations of the theme SPOTS.
The exhibition theme invites a wide range of interpretations, with room for carefully thought out systems and structures as well as deviations and unplanned results. The eight exhibitors have each contributed with an object and a story. The theme has been interpreted in completely different ways. Something has been created to hide a stain, another to highlight the function, or non-function, of stains. Material clashes and combinations lead to new insights. Places, activities and nature are allowed to leave traces that become part of the objects.
In the exhibition, we also encounter questions about how we are affected by the materials that surround us and what significance they can have for our experiences.
7 x konsthantverk
7 x konsthantverk is a series of seven exhibitions that will take place during the period 2020 – 2024 through a collaboration between Arts and Crafts Center and Form/Design Center. 7 x konsthantverk shows, through changing materials and expressions in the exhibitions, the width of the arts and crafts and the expertise that the craftsman possesses.
