This is about our planet - this is about our home
"One in eight billion on Earth. I, like many others, worry that humanity seems to be heading towards the irreversible. Hand in hand we are walking with open eyes towards our doom. There is something deeply human in turning a blind eye to the status quo, a way of dealing with everyday life. But still, when the thought finds its way all the way in, when it stabs you in the chest. An unpleasant feeling spreads. What can we do, how can I as an individual make a difference?"
In The 4 Elements - The documentary, we get to follow artist Ola Sivhed's work in creating the project T4e - an art project that aims to create attention and discussion around the climate crisis and which, after its premiere exhibition on behalf of the President of the Seychelles, has received an official invitation to the exhibition Personal Spaces at the European Culture Center during the Venice Biennale 2024. The 4 Elements is an art concept consisting of four separate pieces that can be combined in different ways to achieve different effects through different exhibition designs. The four pieces represent the four elements: WATER, EARTH, AIR and FIRE. At the heart of the concept is one of humanity's biggest threats: climate change. The goal of the project is to instill hope and strength in the youth who today feel depressed and have a dark view of the future. T4e wants to point out a future that is possible if we can draw strength from knowledge, community and responsibility. The project mixes art, technology and design and allows the four elements to be the catalyst for in-depth discussions about the crisis our world is facing.
